The potato is our most important raw material – delicious, healthy and unbelievably versatile. It is rich in carbohydrates, protein and iron. What’s more, the tuber is full of vitamin B1, B2 and C. As a potato specialist, we have been bringing the finest delicacies from Austria to the retail and catering trade for decades through traditional home-made recipes and regional ingredients.
Our top priority is to ensure the best quality of our potatoes. Which is why, when it comes to cultivating the golden-yellow tuber, we rely on long-standing partnerships with selected contract farmers in Austria and southern Germany and Kartoffel-Service GmbH (KSG). They supply us exclusively with quality yellow-flesh potatoes. This is how we can guarantee the high quality of our exceptional 11 potato specialities.
Potatoes are a product of nature. They benefit from fertile soil, clean water, pure air and good care when growing. With the extensive knowledge, many years of experience and acquired expertise of our experts, selected yellow-flesh potato varieties are planted in the potato fields for 11er in March and April using our own seeds - including the varieties Agria, Fontane, Lady Amarilla and Romina. By June, the potatoes are in full bloom, before harvest time comes around from August/September.
KSG employees help our 11er contract farmers with any questions and difficulties related to potato growing. Sowing, growth, care and harvest are constantly monitored - and this includes quality controls. This close cooperation is fundamental for us. This is how we ensure that year after year we receive our potatoes in the best quality and in sufficient quantities to produce our incomparable 11er potato specialities. This also enables us to guarantee our customers and consumers a suitable quantity of a consistently high quality.
